A graphic highboard from the 1970s in black-stained ash, its open grain still visible beneath the deep finish. A cream band edged with a brushed aluminium strip runs across the top, and every door is fitted with a round satin-metal pull with a studded, diamond-point pattern, each one framing a small flash of orange.
At the centre, an open niche lined in the same orange acts as a display shelf and lights up the whole piece. Below, two drop-down flaps open onto a bar compartment lined in light wood, with a central divider. The case stands on a black base with turned legs joined by stretchers.
Secretary, bar and storage in one piece: a strong, colourful accent for a living room, a study or an entrance.
Condition
In good vintage condition with normal signs of age and use. There is wear along the edges and corners, with the lighter wood showing through in places, notably on the front edges of the case, the niche shelf and one lower corner. The legs and stretchers show scuffs and a few small chips, mainly at the feet. Light surface scratches and small marks can be seen on the fronts and sides, and the pulls show light wear to their finish. The flaps open and are held by their metal stays. Structurally solid and stable.
