A vintage desk lamp by Stralux, the Swiss lighting manufacturer, model SZ 21, from the 1970s. A glossy chocolate-brown lacquered metal shade with a cream interior slides up and down a slim chrome stem and pivots on its chrome arm, so the light can be directed exactly where it is needed. The heavy round brown base keeps it perfectly stable. Original Stralux label inside the shade. A warm, graphic piece of Seventies design for a desk, a bedside table or a reading corner.
In working condition, tested with a bulb. Vintage condition with visible signs of age: the lacquer on the shade shows fine scratches and small marks, the base has scratches and a few small paint chips, especially on its edge, and the chrome stem has light wear. The cream interior of the shade shows some spots and stains, and the label is slightly torn at one corner.
