A pair of vintage bookends in solid natural stone, each made of a round disc set upright on a rectangular base. The discs and bases are cut from a warm red-brown marble with grey and cream veining, and the flat face of each disc reveals a banded onyx in cream, grey and amber tones. A graphic Art Deco shape with real weight, which holds books firmly in place.
Good vintage condition with visible signs of age. Small chips are visible along the top edge of the discs, on the onyx rim, as shown in the close-up photo. The stone also shows natural pits, dark inclusions and fine veins, and a few light marks on the edges of the bases. These are part of the character of the stone but please check the photos carefully. Sold as the pair.
