One of the defining chairs of German Space Age design.

Each chair is moulded as a single piece of fibreglass-reinforced plastic: the backrest flows into the armrests and down into a cantilevered base in one continuous curve. The cream shells are paired with round seat pads in olive green fabric. Light and stackable, they work around a dining table, at a desk or as accent chairs.

Details

Designer: Alexander Begge

Manufacturer: Casala

Model: Casalino 2007/2008

Origin: West Germany

Period: 1970s

Materials: Fibreglass-reinforced plastic, fabric seat pads

Colour: Cream shells, olive green seats

Marked underneath: "Casala, Model 2007/2008, Made in Western Germany"

Stackable design

Condition

Good vintage condition, with visible signs of age and use.
